Two million Swedes can expect a modern healthcare system after Stockholm Läns Landsting has signed a contract with Systematic regarding the delivery of several modules from the IT solution Columna. Furthermore, the contract involves a forward-looking innovation partnership between the two.

Initially, the contract entails that the Swedish county has purchased a system that collects data from different kinds of equipment and measurements and place them in the central part of the IT system. This means that Systematic’s electronic health record will be implemented at Swedish hospitals throughout the county, and furthermore, the county even has the opportunity to purchase other modules as well.

Having signed the contract with Stockholm Läns Landsting, Systematic will have an international reference point consisting of the hospital Nya Karolinska, which is the Swedish answer to the national hospital or Skejby hospital in Denmark. According to Michael Holm, the contract is a big step for Systematic towards increasing sales within health IT internationally, with the Nordic countries as the main target.
