A great experience awaits a group of Danish high school girls, when the University of Aarhus invites to this year’s IT-camp for girls the 17-19th October. At the camp, the girls will meet an exciting and challenging program, which includes a presentation of lectures, workshops, company visits and likewise gives the chance to meet different role models from both studies and companies.

"The IT industry is both for boys and girls and we are looking forward to supporting an event that hopefully can help open the eyes of several girls to the exciting work life that IT training brings. At the same time, there is a lack of IT specialists in Denmark, so we need initiatives like this, which works towards increasing the number of people in the IT field" says Vice President for People & Culture Dorte Gade.

The IT-camp for girls takes place the 17-19th October and is a three-day event mainly with focus on technology, design and inspiration for high school girls or girls who have Sabbath years, all free of charge. The purpose of the camp is to combat prejudices about the IT industry and show young girls that IT is definitely a women field as well. This year, the study programs Computer Science and IT Product Development will be represented at the camp. The camp is to be held in the IT-city Katrinebjerg, Aarhus.
