Talks about everything from vaccines and creativity to bacteria and philosophy. This year’s TEDx event in Aarhus, Denmark invites participants to meet international experts in a wide range of fields – and Systematic is again the main sponsor of the TED-inspired event that will take place on Saturday 6 October in the Tivoli Friheden amusement park.

TEDxAarhus brings together 800 participants for a series of innovative presentations, with speakers spending up to 18 minutes presenting new ideas about a range of different subjects based on the same theme. The theme for this year’s TEDxAarhus is “Look Closer”, in which participants are invited to challenge their first impressions and assumptions in a wide variety of fields.

“TEDx is a great concept that conveys new knowledge and inspires innovation. These are elements that are crucial in society – and for business in particular – and that’s why Systematic backing the event makes such good sense,” explains Systematic CEO Michael Holm.

Scrum-inspired courses
During TEDxAarhus, Systematic invites participants to two scrum-inspired courses that take place during the breaks. In just 45 minutes, those taking part get introduced to the scrum method – a tool for flexible, efficient collaboration with rapid coordination across work or project groups. Participation is free, and the teams are filled up on a first come-first served basis.

In addition, Systematic offers anyone who needs a break between the different presentations a free ride on one of the amusement attractions.

What are TED and TEDx?

TED is a concept in which “Ideas worth spreading” are filmed at two annual live events, and posted online at ted.com. The talks are about everything from the brain to space research, architecture and creativity. A TED event ending with “x” is arranged independently of TED, but in accordance with the TED concept.
