A growing market with increased competition demands fast transition and efficient processes for succeeding. For this reason, many companies are pursuing a radical shift from hierarchical structures to more agile environments in order to keep up with the speed that today’s marketplace calls for.

That is one of the main points in an article from Harvard Business Review, where two partners from the global management consulting firm Bain & Company take the temperature of management culture as of today.

Here, Systematic is highlighted as a company where the agile principles successfully have gone from being used only among software developers to permeate the entire company. According to the article, it is essential for the management to treat every company task and initiatives - including its own – as a backlog with an outline of future tasks to be handled in the team.

The management needs to act as a scrum-team that prioritises all of the tasks in its backlog based on importance. This means that every task is solved through a prioritised order until all tasks in the backlog are solved.
