Slovenia Transitions To Sitaware
Based on comprehensive tests, the Slovenian Army has decided to adopt Systematic C2 software products for their project KIS PINK 2 on the basis that it provide a reliable C2 system with simplified system management and configuration and the ability to retain the use of existing radios and computers.

... it is a simple and flexible solution from a single provider, giving complete interoperability with no extra add-ons, and with low maintenance costs.

Key requirements also include NATO interoperability and mobile operations within the battalion battlegroup, on a unified and vertically aligned system across the whole command structure, from the individual soldier to the JOC.

The Slovenian Army C2 solution was constrained to use the legacy communications network, given that budgetary constraints precluded replacing hardware. Trials conducted by the Slovenian Army demonstrated that new software architecture and updated software versions, optimised for narrowband communications, only required a low bandwidth to work effectively, thus overcoming a major limitation of the existing communications network.

Colonel Boris Cimpric, Chief of CIS on the Slovenian General Staff, informed Jane's International Defence Review that the benefits of adopting SitaWare is that it is a simple and flexible solution from a single provider, giving complete interoperability with no extra add-ons, and with low maintenance costs.

The Slovenian Army received the first deliveries of the new solution in the beginning of 2016, and the full deployment will take place in 2017.
