Systematic supports Aarhus as an IT health cluster
The Danish government has declared that it now wants to group all the state health IT activities in Denmark's second-largest city, Aarhus - not least because this is where the new Sundhedsvæsen Danmark (Denmark Health Service) authority is to be located, as part of the government's proposal for health care reform.
Systematic is headquartered in Aarhus as well as being the largest IT company in the city, which is why it is only natural that the company welcomes the planned location for Health Service Denmark. “I think our city mayor is really pleased that the new authority will be headquartered in Aarhus – and we at Systematic share that view. For us, there is also the big benefit of there being a greater concentration of the right kinds of potential employees, and that there’ll be better opportunities for swapping and applying key know-how,” explained Michael Holm, CEO and founder of Systematic, to the Danish IT magazine Computerworld.
Many IT companies in Denmark have great difficulty getting access to the kinds of qualified labour that are crucial for a company like Systematic. “Systematic is one of the city’s top employers, and is specially significant because it is an IT workplace. Because of this, some people would even categorise the company as a locomotive or even a growth engine. You can train here as a software programmer and still remain in the city when you get work,” explained Terje Vammen, chairperson of the Erhverv Aarhus local business association to Computerworld in early 2018.

Systematic is well established in the Danish market for electronic health record systems. Central Denmark Region already uses the company’s healthcare IT system, and Region of Southern Denmark will be using it from 2020 onwards.
