Systematic employs public affairs executive

The software company Systematic wants to strengthen its position and political lobbying, and has therefore appointed former Danish Social Liberal Party MP Andreas Steenberg as its new public affairs executive from 1 February.

“We develop and deliver complex and critical IT solutions for the health service, the defence sector and for the emergency services in Denmark and abroad. Therefore, it is only natural that we want to follow and contribute to the political processes and considerations which are relevant for our company – and for society as a whole. This involves a wide range of tasks, which Andreas will be helping us with,” says Systematic CEO Michael Holm.

Andreas Steenberg graduated with an MSc in Political Science from Aarhus University in 2011 and, as a member of the Danish Social Liberal Party, was elected to the Regional Council in Region Central Jutland for two years and for 11 years to the Danish Parliament, where he was most recently political spokesperson, vice-chair and spokesperson for finance.

Andreas Steenberg left the Danish Parliament after the November 2022 election, and has now decided not to stand for re-election. Instead, he is looking forward to stepping into his new role as public affairs executive at Denmark’s largest privately-owned software company.

“I’m very much looking forward to starting a new chapter together with Michael and everyone else at Systematic, a company that I got to know when I sat on the Regional Council, and we implemented Systematic’s electronic health record in 2011-2012. The electronic health record was and continues to be a success which has freed up time for patients. And that is, of course, what it’s all about – developing IT solutions that make our society a better place. Systematic is working to solve some of the big challenges within health, security and the climate, and I’m very much looking forward to playing my part,” says Andreas Steenberg.

For Michael Holm and Systematic, at the end of the day it is about making a positive difference and influencing the direction in which society is moving.

“We want closer contact to and dialogue with municipal, regional and national decision-makers, and Andreas brings with him many years of experience from both regional and national politics. He is familiar with the political processes, and he has a burning desire to contribute to a better society. This is completely in line with our values, and therefore we have every confidence that he is the right person for this job,” says Michael Holm.
