Doctors in the Central Denmark Region are satisfied with their IT tools

A close collaboration between clinicians and IT workers has been crucial for the success of the development of the electronic health record Midt EPJ, which is used at hospitals in the Central Denmark Region.

90 % of younger doctors in the Central Denmark Region are satisfied with their electronic health record. An article from dbrs.dk presents what they consider to be the success behind Midt EPJ based on an interview with doctors and IT employees.

The system was implemented at Randers Regional Hospital in 2010, and later the system has been deployed at all hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. Midt EPJ has therefore celebrated its 10th anniversary as the joint health record system in the Central Denmark Region.

Thomas Stadil Pinstrup, quality and health IT manager at Randers Regional Hospital, believes that the clinicians’ involvement in developing the systems’ functionality is a crucial part of its success. Henrik Vestring, IT office manager, Claus Kofoed, IT manager in the Central Denmark Region, and Klaus Roelsgaard, chief physician at Department of Internal Medicine at Randers Regional Hospital, agree with that.

In 2020-2021, Midt EPJ is implemented in the Region of Southern Denmark and immediately after in the North Denmark Region.
