Sandy Wilson appointed chairman of the board at Systematic Ltd.

To further strengthen its strategic focus on the UK defence market and accelerate the internationalisation of the Group’s defence activities, Sandy Wilson has been appointed chairman of the board at Systematic Ltd.

Effective from 1 March 2014 Dr. Sandy Wilson will take chairmanship of the board at Systematic Ltd. Systematic Ltd. is part of the Systematic Group, an international IT company and one of the world’s fastest growing providers of military interoperability solutions and command and control off-the-shelf software products.

With experience from 30 years in the defence and security industry Dr. Wilson is to further expand Systematic’s outreach in the UK market and accelerate the internationalisation of the Group’s defence activities. “The UK is a highly strategic market for Systematic, who are also responsible for the Systematic Group’s sales activities in southern Europe and North Africa, focusing on bringing world class interoperability and command and control (C2) products and solutions to the defence market,” states Dr. Wilson and elaborates, “Providing products and delivering projects, success is linked to rapid roll-out and implementation capabilities, reliability and competitiveness in the market place.”

Dr. Wilson joins Systematic from his current position as Managing Director and owner of ONSLOT Limited, a consultancy company providing intelligence, strategy and operational advice to defence, security and technology organisations.

Prior to founding ONSLOT Limited, Dr. Wilson was President and Managing Director of General Dynamics UK, the UK arm of General Dynamics Corporation, one of the top 5 US defence & aerospace companies. A major part of the business was involved with tactical communication and information systems (CIS) including the British Army’s Bowman, one of the largest ever roll-outs of a terrestrial based CIS with an extensive battle management capability.

For decades, Dr. Wilson has taken a prominent role in the wider UK defence establishment through trade associations, and he is a member of several boards within the defence industry.
