IRIS MTF GATEWAY

W736 IRIS MTF Gateway

Cost effective MTF interoperability

The IRIS MTF Gateway is powered by the well-known and operationally proven IRIS Forms Server and IRIS Information Mapping technology. It provides a cost effective and easily deployable solution designed for integrators of C2 systems including those using Systematic SitaWare Headquarters systems who are looking for cost effective Message Text Format (MTF) interoperability.

Easy Extraction of Tracks and Geographic Shapes

The IRIS MTF Gateway is a software product specially aimed at processing messages containing tracks and georeferenced geometric shapes. The MTF Gateway translates various messages with geometric information to/from a standardised intermediate data model that can be interfaced via a number of REST services.

The intermediate data model makes it possible to decouple the target system from the various message types, different standards and versions they appear in. By mapping data into the intermediate data model from a C2 system, consummation and generation of the actual messages then comes out-of-the-box.

Keeping up-to-date on evolving MTF standards

Message Text Format (MTF) standards are constantly evolving, as new baselines and versions of the standards are issued periodically to keep up with emerging operational requirements.

However; many bespoke defence systems have hard-coded support for a limited set of messages at a specific version of a standard, often the version are already obsolete when a system is first deployed. This means that over time, multiple versions of the same standard are in operational use and there can be a significant difference between the latest version of the standard compared to the version deployed on systems. Unfortunately, many systems are not updated to keep up with the evolving standards, as implementing new versions of the standards is very costly.

With the IRIS MTF Gateway, maintaining currency with evolving standards, while retaining backward compatibility with legacy systems becomes straightforward. Introducing support for a new message version is simply a matter of upgrading to a new version of the MTF Gateway that offers support for this message while the remainder of the C2 systems is left unchanged. Using the IRIS MTF Gateway reduces the risk, time, and cost of deploying updates to the information exchange standards while ensuring the operational user has the latest version of messages available.
