Copenhagen Municipality enhances electronic care records with AI
"The care record system is the foundation of our work – now we're investing in speech recognition," says Rikke Saltoft Andersen, Chief Digital Officer for Copenhagen Municipality's Health and Care Administration, speaking to the online media Altinget.
She sees AI-powered speech recognition as a valuable tool to help time-pressed healthcare workers complete their daily tasks more efficiently and address the growing staffing shortage.
Copenhagen Municipality is leading the charge alongside other major Danish cities like Aarhus and Aalborg, piloting digital speech recognition technology for documentation tasks. The initiative is part of a two-year public-private innovation project called 'Talt' (Spoken), with Systematic serving as the technology partner.
The goal is to reduce documentation time, streamline record-keeping processes, and improve the standardisation and quality of care documentation.
Early results from the project show promising technological maturity, demonstrating that healthcare professionals can effectively leverage speech recognition and its automation capabilities.
