Novavi modernises treatment for drug and alcohol misuse with Columna Cura Social
Denmark's largest provider of drug and alcohol misuse treatment, the Novavi foundation, will strengthen and streamline workflows, documentation, and collaboration through the implementation of Columna Cura Social.
The 180 staff members at Novavi's treatment centres across Denmark will receive a new digital tool at the beginning of 2026, which is absolutely central when it comes to supporting and documenting treatment. Like several other private organisations, they have adopted Systematic's electronic record solution, Columna Cura.
Columna Cura consolidates all relevant client information into a single electronic health record, providing practitioners and stakeholders with a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of appointments, treatment plans, observations, and more.
Kirsten Dennig, CEO at Novavi, explains the choice:
"Systematic was chosen because they deliver a standard solution with high operational reliability and a strong focus on user-friendliness and data security - something we value highly in our work with citizens who share health information, and who also highly value the possibility of anonymity."

From challenging maintenance to future-proof solution
With 60 years of experience in drug and alcohol misuse treatment and as a nationwide service provider, Novavi requires innovative digital capabilities to meet documentation requirements and reduce manual processes.
With the switch to Columna Cura Social, they get a solution that is always updated and in compliance with current regulations.
"In our work, we place great emphasis on documentation and structure our treatment according to current legislation. Given that Cura is under continuous development and is used by many other organisations and councils, we look forward to always having an up-to-date and future-proof solution," says Kirsten Dennig.

Technology as support for professional quality
For Novavi, a new system is not just about technology, but about creating better frameworks for professional work.
"We want a record and documentation system that supports clinical documentation and professional development - and which is simultaneously intuitive for our employees to use," explains Kirsten Dennig and adds, "It’s crucial for us that our practitioners experience that technology helps them - not hinders them - in their encounters with citizens."
One of the concrete improvements is that Columna Cura Social makes it easier to share documentation with municipalities and ensure transparency in collaboration. The system gives Novavi better opportunities to follow the citizen's progression and document treatment outcomes - an important step toward more data-driven practice.
"We want to continue being a modern and professional leader in alcohol misuse treatment - and that requires our digital solutions to match the demands and expectations we face," says Kirsten Dennig.
A successful partnership from the start
From the beginning, the collaboration with Systematic has been characterized by good dialogue and mutual understanding.
"We have experienced Systematic as responsive, competent, and solution-oriented - and that gives us strong confidence that the implementation will be a success. We’ve had close dialogue from the start, and we experience that Systematic understands our needs and the reality we face as a provider of a health service," says Kirsten Dennig.
The CEO sees Columna Cura Social as a decisive element in Novavi's continued development:
"The new IT system is an important step in that direction, and it gives us a foundation for working more systematically, well-documented, and cohesively - to the benefit of citizens, employees, and collaboration partners."
