Systematic launches bold expansion into Norwegian health IT market

Systematic is aiming to capture up to half of the Norwegian municipal market for citizen care record systems, and is now establishing a local company as part of the largest international health IT initiative in the company’s history.

Systematic has just set up a Norwegian subsidiary, and is actively recruiting staff and looking for office space in Norway. The new office will serve as both a sales and delivery hub for new customers, and as a local point of contact for the more than 100 Norwegian municipalities already using Systematic’s library management platform, Cicero.

“We’re fully committed when we enter a new market. By establishing a presence in Norway, we’re getting close to the many municipalities preparing to modernise their digital solutions in the health and care services.

We bring with us a proven and modern system – and a clear ambition to become one of the leading providers of next-generation care record solutions in Norway.”

Building on Danish success – in partnership with Norwegian municipalities

Systematic’s electronic care and social record system, Columna Cura, is currently used by nearly half of all Danish municipalities and supports more than 85,000 users. The system has been developed in close collaboration with frontline professionals such as social and healthcare assistants, nurses, and social workers – and is continuously being improved based on user feedback.

“The value of our approach is well-documented: We work closely with users to ensure the system supports their daily tasks. And we’re applying the same approach in Norway. This is not just a solution that we’re translating – it’s a partnership that we’re inviting the municipalities to join,” says Brian Fisker.

Full focus on Norwegian context and collaboration

The new Norwegian company will include local compliance and delivery specialists to ensure that the system aligns with national legislation, regulatory requirements and local integration needs.

“We see our Norwegian office as a platform for partnerships. We want to contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices across borders – and we believe that strong collaboration between municipalities and tech providers can accelerate innovation in both Denmark and Norway,” says Brian Fisker.

About Cura

Cura is an electronic care and social record system used in municipal home care, care homes and social services. Here, it supports documentation, coordination and decision-making for healthcare and social care staff, helping them maintain an overview of a citizen’s care pathway and ensure safe and timely support – always based on up-to-date information.

Cura is a secure cloud-based solution built on open international standards (HL7/FHIR, SNOMED CT). It is scalable, and currently used in both the largest and the smallest Danish municipalities – Copenhagen and Læsø. The system is intuitive to use and can typically be implemented within three to six months with minimal training required.
