Danish Finance Minister to Systematic: You provide NATO with its technological edge
Nicolai Wammen explored Systematic’s defence and healthcare solutions during a visit to the company’s headquarters in Aarhus on Monday, where he also met with employees.
Finance Minister Nicolai Wammen (Social Democrats) visited Systematic’s headquarters in Aarhus today for a discussion that went far beyond budgets and balance sheets. At the heart of the visit were future technologies – particularly artificial intelligence – and how they can help safeguard both Denmark’s security and welfare.
As a former mayor of Aarhus, Wammen is very familiar with both the building and the company. During the visit, he was given an introduction to Systematic’s advanced software solutions for the healthcare and defence sectors, and later addressed employees gathered in the company canteen.

“I’m truly impressed by what you are able to achieve – in both healthcare and defence. You are helping to set the standard not only in Denmark but internationally,” said the Minister, who highlighted the need for intelligent and efficient solutions that strengthen Denmark’s safety and welfare.

Speaking about the ongoing military build-up in Denmark and across Europe, he added:
“It’s not just about firepower – it’s about even better software. When it comes to intelligence and the overview of the battlefield, your work helps give the major NATO countries the technological edge they need. And you’re extremely strong in that area.”
Alongside Systematic’s domain experts in defence and healthcare, the Minister discussed the potential of artificial intelligence – both in terms of situational awareness on the battlefield and more coherent patient care across the healthcare system. He carried that message into his speech to employees:

“AI is absolutely essential to using taxpayers’ money as wisely as possible. What you’re doing here matters – not just for Denmark, but internationally as well,” said Nicolai Wammen, before thanking Systematic’s employees for their contribution.
He concluded with a message that placed current geopolitical tensions into perspective:
“We live in a time where we are challenged from many sides – by fake news, by conflicts, and by those who do not wish democracy well. That’s why we must stand firm in our values and defend them. That’s exactly what you’re helping to do – and thank you for that.”
