About Nikolaj Bramsen, CEO of Systematic

Who is Nikolaj Bramsen?

In 2013, Nikolaj's flair for business strategy and customer relations led him to pursue a position as Senior Sales Executive in Systematic's Digital Transformation and Healthcare businesses. His curiosity for international markets and desire to broaden his expertise then brought him to Systematic's Abu Dhabi office, where he spent two years expanding Systematic's global presence and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders in the defence sector. 

Back again in Denmark, he took on new leadership responsibilities, working with healthcare solutions and strategic programme management. 

In 2018, after nearly 12 years at Systematic, the time had come to explore the customer's side of the table, and Nikolaj said his goodbyes to pursue a position as Head of IT Development in Central Denmark Region (Region Midtjylland), where Systematic's healthcare software took its first baby steps and is now flourishing. 

However, the pull to return "home" never left Nikolaj, and four years later, he was back at the Systematic headquarters - this time in a role that truly honoured his people-centric approach to leadership, as Group Senior Vice President for Systematic's People & Culture department. 

When the time came for founder Michael Holm to step down as CEO in 2023, Nikolaj was the obvious successor. With over 13 years with the company, he had an extensive business understanding, wide-ranging experience, and insight into all parts of the organisation. His personal values reflected those that drive Systematic, and to this day, he is committed to making Systematic even better - where people thrive, innovation flourishes, and society is strengthened through exceptional software.

Member of board of directors and commitment in society

Nikolaj is dedicated to driving innovation and fostering cross-industry collaboration. He serves as a board member in two of the industry association Dansk Industri's 12 business communities, supporting knowledge-sharing and growth in Denmark's digital and defence industries.

Furthermore, he is part of the industry association IT-Branchen's central board.  

Nikolaj is married to Rikke and has two boys born in 2004 and 2008. He lives with his family in Ry, Central Jutland, Denmark.
