Systematic to deliver hospital IT infrastructure to Norway’s largest region

Systematic is expanding its presence on the Norwegian healthcare market thanks to a signed contract with Helse Sør-Øst to improve their hospital IT infrastructure.

Helse Sør-Øst (HSØ), the largest health region in Scandinavia, has signed a contract with Systematic to collaborate on a solution to increase the hospital IT infrastructure to support hospital logistics. HSØ has a vision of providing high quality health services equal to all and the new collaboration with Systematic will enable higher quality and release more time for patient care.

The solution being implemented is an extensive IoT platform that increases the hospital IT infrastructure and supports logistic processes by enabling asset tracking with the solution Columna Flow Search & Find. This increases the real-time tracking of hospital equipment such as medical devices, beds or even people.

Senior Consultant on the project, Jacob Gade is excited about the project with HSØ:

“It is very exciting to be part of a project of this size. HSØ is the largest region in Scandinavian and we’re proud to be part of a project aimed at increasing and optimising the health service quality. Implementing a wide IoT platform enables support of various processes in the hospital and thereby higher efficiency, which means more time for patient care.”

With almost 80,000 employees covering 16 hospital trusts, Helse Sør-Øst is the largest of the four Regional Health Authorities in Norway. HSØ ensure specialist healthcare services for almost 3 million citizens equaling 57% of the total population in Norway. To provide high quality care for all, a complete hospital IT infrastructure is essential, and this is supported by Systematic’s solution that utilises smart technology. The collaboration has just started, and the first pilot will run at the end of summer 2022.
