Systematic appoints experienced senior civil servant and adviser to its Board
Former Permanent Secretary to strengthen Systematic’s strategic focus on defence, security and critical infrastructure.
Morten Bæk has been appointed as a new member of the Board of Directors at Systematic. Bæk is a former senior civil servant and strategic adviser with extensive experience from some of society’s most critical sectors. Among other roles, Bæk has served as Permanent Secretary at both the Danish Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities. Since leaving the civil service, Bæk is a Partner at Implement Consulting Group.
“Morten Bæk has been involved in some of the most complex and critical policy areas in Denmark – from defence and energy supply to emergency preparedness and security. This has given him deep insight into the frameworks and mechanisms within which our software solutions operate. That insight is particularly valuable at a time when technology and societal security are increasingly intertwined,” says Michael Holm, Chairman of the Board and founder of Systematic.
Morten Bæk looks forward to contributing to the Board’s work at Systematic, which develops software for defence, emergency services, healthcare, policing and critical infrastructure in Denmark and internationally.
“Systematic is an exceptionally exciting company that combines strong technological capabilities and deep domain knowledge with a clear societal purpose. I look forward to contributing to the company’s impressive development,” Bæk says.
The appointment follows a record year for Systematic. In 2024/25, the company achieved revenue of DKK 2.2 billion and more than doubled its profit to DKK 803 million. Systematic also celebrated its 40th anniversary and today employs more than 1,200 people across 15 countries.
Morten Bæk succeeds Nick Hækkerup, CEO of the Danish Brewers’ Association and former Minister of Justice, who has served on the Board since 2022.
