Systematic recruits top-profile from the Danish Armed Forces

Klaus Qvist will be strengthening Systematic’s Nordic and Baltic business and support closer cooperation between defence and the rest of society.

Systematic has appointed Klaus Holtum Qvist as Vice President for the development of its defence business. He joins the company after more than two decades in the Danish Armed Forces, where he has worked on everything from major procurement programmes to long-term strategic development and cross-domain cooperation across all branches.

“Klaus brings a truly unique combination of competencies. There is hardly a part of the Armed Forces he hasn’t been responsible for – from mission planning to the largest acquisitions of aircraft, drones and IT systems, as well as long-term capability development projects. He has deep domain insight, extensive leadership experience, and an impressive understanding of how technology, defence needs, and societal demands evolve,” says Systematic CEO, Nikolaj Bramsen.

A strong match in values and expertise

For Klaus Qvist, it was crucial that Systematic is a Danish company that shares his values of integrity, professionalism and making a meaningful difference – and whose solutions he already knows as robust and trustworthy.

“I look forward to joining Systematic and working with the vital command-and-control systems and IT solutions that are essential for enabling both defence and society to make informed and effective decisions,” he says.

When threats cross domains, so must solutions

In his new role, Klaus Qvist will be responsible for expanding and further developing Systematic’s defence solutions across the Nordic and Baltic regions with a focus on joint and multi-domain capabilities.

“The security landscape is changing rapidly. Hybrid threats and new technologies mean that tasks are becoming more complex, and cooperation across domains and sectors is more important than ever. Systematic’s solutions already play a central role in the defence sector by creating better situational awareness and enabling more effective decision-making – and this will only become more important in the years ahead,” says Klaus Qvist.

Klaus Holtum Qvist took up the position on 8 December 2025.
