German Army leadership visits Systematic in Aarhus

Lieutenant General Heico Hübner and a delegation of the German Army discuss future C4ISR requirements for Multi-Domain Operations

AARHUS, DENMARK – On 3 and 4 August 2026, a high-level delegation of the German Army visited Systematic's headquarters in Aarhus. It was led by Lieutenant General Heico Hübner, Deputy Chief of Staff of the German Army and Commander of the Army's Basic Military Organisation, and welcomed by Systematic CEO Nikolaj Bramsen and Sven Trusch, Managing Director of Systematic's German subsidiary. Alongside an introduction to Systematic's culture, values and way of working, the two days centred on the German Army's future C4ISR requirements in the context of Multi-Domain Operations (MDO).

Systematic presented the SitaWare Suite as a complete solution, from an architecture spanning every command echelon to interoperability with NATO and coalition partners. Selected roadmap themes for 2026 and 2027 were shown through practical examples, including tactical airspace coordination, a new briefing tool and collaborative targeting. A particular highlight was the sensor-to-shooter link between drone management software and the SitaWare Joint Fires module. The session also covered AI-agent-driven planning within SitaWare and the AI-enabled decision advantage delivered by SitaWare Insight.

In turn, Lieutenant General Hübner set out the German Army's perspective on digitisation for MDO. He described the five fields of activity for raising operational readiness by 2029, the demands that connectivity, survivability and C2 interoperability place on an increasingly transparent battlefield, and the interplay of digital, data and AI backbones as the technical foundation for digital sovereignty.

The closing discussion on Agentic AI drew the sharpest interest. Lieutenant General Hübner pointed to its potential to accelerate planning and command processes considerably:

He was equally clear that a continuous exchange between the troops and product management is indispensable to developing BMS software: innovations must be recognised early, trialled in practice, and fed back directly into development.
