Systematic brings battlefield integration expertise to RUSI's research on the UK's Digital Targeting Web
The UK's ambition to connect sensors, decision-makers and weapons systems across the Armed Forces represents a significant shift in how it intends to operate. Delivering it will require more than new technology. It demands an integrated approach that connects existing and emerging capabilities, enables information to move across domains and gives military personnel the means to make decisions and act at pace.
These are among the challenges explored in new research from the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), The UK's Digital Targeting Web: Implementing a Targeting Superstructure, authored by Research Fellow Noah Sylvia.
Systematic contributed industry insight to the research, drawing on its experience of developing and delivering defence software and integrating capabilities across national and multinational operational environments.
"With the support of companies like Systematic, this RUSI piece has been able to independently explore the concepts, capabilities, and enablers needed for the success of the DTW,”
The paper highlights the importance of connecting sensors, decision-makers and effectors across land, air, maritime and wider defence environments. Achieving this will depend on open architectures, interoperability and the ability to integrate existing systems with new technologies as they emerge.
“Systematic is bringing its experience to this important debate and stands ready to support UK in turning this ambition into reality.”
Systematic has more than 25 years of experience developing defence software, with its SitaWare command-and-control solutions used by armed forces in more than 50 countries. Its work supporting interoperability across national and multinational forces provides a strong foundation for contributing to the UK's Digital Targeting Web ambitions.
