Rapporteur speaks to Systematic CEO on AI and Denmark’s drone defence

Rapporteur has reported on Denmark’s plans to strengthen its counter-drone capabilities with AI-supported command and control, following a contract awarded to Systematic to help the Danish Armed Forces analyse potential threats more quickly.

The article features insights from Systematic CEO Nikolaj Bramsen on the growing challenge of identifying and prioritising threats among the increasing volume of data available to military commanders.

Systematic’s software will work alongside Denmark’s existing counter-drone sensors and systems, helping the Armed Forces build a common operational picture and distinguish between potential threats.

AI-supported analysis can help identify drones that warrant immediate attention, giving commanders better information to assess threats and coordinate an appropriate response.

“Having that common operating picture across all these aspects is really at the heart of what we are bringing to the table, including our AI capabilities,” said Nikolaj Bramsen, CEO of Systematic.

The contract, awarded by the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) and announced by Systematic earlier this month, marks an important step in integrating AI-supported analysis into NATO's counter-drone command-and-control capability.
