Systematic brings familiar face on board to drive new strategic focus
Software company Systematic is focusing strongly on strengthening national security and critical infrastructure. To take on this challenge, the company has appointed Anders Goul Nielsen as Group Senior Vice President.
Systematic has been making its name for decades with software for society-critical sectors such as defence, the healthcare system, the police and libraries. The company is now bringing its expertise to bear in order to enhance national contingency planning and our critical infrastructure.

Systematic has brought Anders Goul Nielsen on board, from his post as Senior Vice President at Kamstrup, to head up this initiative. He has previously spent 26 years in a variety of roles at Systematic and is keen to return to take on this new remit:
“One has to go far back in history to find Denmark in as high a state of readiness as now. Given the current situation, it is vital to stay on top of security and protect our critical infrastructure, such as power, water, and the internet. Systematic is in a unique position to make a positive contribution to this: we are experts in making systems interact and share data, and we understand how essential it is for technology to work flawlessly—because on the battlefield or in the operating room, it can be a matter of life or death. We are now applying this experience to the field of contingency planning,” explains Anders.
As Group Senior Vice President, he will also have responsibility for Systematics’ activities within the production, utilities and library sectors.
New to the role, but a familiar face
Even though the actual role is new, Anders Goul Nielsen is a familiar face within Systematic. He has spent a total of 26 years in various roles in the company’s healthcare and defence business areas within software development, sales and management, and according to CEO Nikolaj Bramsen, he is the perfect choice for this job.
“Anders has in-depth knowledge of who we are and what we can do here at Systematic. With his results-oriented approach, indomitable positivity and spirit of teamwork, he is in a strong position to expand and develop our efforts,” says Nikolaj.
Anders Goul Nielsen returns to Systematic following a period as Senior Vice President at Kamstrup, which produces intelligent water and energy metering solutions. Here, he was responsible for the company’s Digitalisation and IT department.
“I am glad of my time at Kamstrup. It gave me a new perspective on what it’s like to be on the opposite side of the table as a hardware company, with software integrated into your products. Choosing to return to Systematic seemed only natural, as the people and culture have a special place in my heart. However, it is also because I believe in Systematic and the difference they make to society, and with the threat landscape we are currently facing, being able to contribute in a professional capacity is a huge personal motivation for me,” he says.
In addition to working on security and critical infrastructure, his task will be to promote Systematic’s Cicero library software on the international market. Systematic has recently been re-awarded the contract to supply Cicero to all Danish libraries, and with newly secured, large contracts in Germany, Norway and Sweden, the new Group Senior Vice President is ready to exploit this momentum on the European market.
Anders Goul Nielsen took up his post on 1 February 2025.
